Fue un militar chileno con el rango de general del aire. Se desempeñó como comandante en jefe de la Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh) desde 1973 hasta 1978, siendo miembro de la Junta Militar de Gobierno durante la dictadura militar dirigida por Augusto Pinochet.
