Edgardo Boeninger, nació en Santiago el 23 de agosto de 1925. Fue, ingeniero civil, ingeniero comercial, académico y político del Partido Demócrata Cristiano. Senador designado por el periodo 1998-2006. Ministro Secretario General de la Presidencia durante la presidencia de Patricio Aylwin, entre 1990 y 1994. Rector de la Universidad de Chile desde 1970 a 1973. Finalmente, muere en Santiago, el 13 de septiembre de 2009.
