History
Estudió Medicina en la Universidad de Chile y se tituló el año 1928. Más adelante se especializó en Alemania.
En 1938 hizo notar a las autoridades chilenas la necesidad de crear un instituto de neurocirugía y neuropatología. El 22 de febrero de 1940 se inauguró el Servicio de Neurocirugía del Hospital Salvador, que actualmente se denomina "Instituto de Neurocirugía Dr. Asenjo".
En 1953 asumió como el primer Director del recién creado Instituto de Neurocirugía e Investigaciones Cerebrales.
Padre del Premio Nacional de Ciencias Aplicadas y Tecnológicas 2004, Juan Asenjo De Leuze De Lancizolle.
